Waar ga je werken?
About Us Frencken Mechatronics develops and assembles high Tech industrial systems for the semiconductor, healthcare, and analytical markets. Our expertise includes cleanroom and non-cleanroom precision assembly of mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems. We also produce high-quality components and modules for leading companies in the high-tech industry. About the Internship Our Procurement Department offers an exciting opportunity for a final-year HBO or Master’s student in Industrial Engineering (Technische Bedrijfskunde) or Supply Chain Management from a Dutch university or hogeschool. This graduation internship focuses on developing an operational and reproducible method for collecting reliable market intelligence to support industrial purchasing decisions. The project addresses a critical challenge: how can we consistently and efficiently gather meaningful information about the products we buy, across a wide variety of categories, without a dedicated market intelligence team? This project is not about manually collecting data, but about delivering a repeatable, sustainable way of working that the procurement function can adopt. What are the project objectives you will deliver: • A documented, operational method to identify, validate, and retrieve relevant market information that supports purchasing decisions. • A clear, step-by-step workflow (manual, automated, or hybrid) for procurement staff and stakeholders to follow. • One of the following: o A set of vetted data services or sources integrated into the workflow, or o A working AI agent or digital assistant that automates parts of the process (e.g., data discovery, monitoring, summarization). o Handover materials or brief training for users of the method. Your key tasks: • Understanding what types of market intelligence is needed to support buying decisions. • Identifying reliable data sources (e.g., commercial databases, analyst portals, open sources, structured feeds). • Creating evaluation criteria for selecting sources or services (e.g., trustworthiness, relevance, cost, update frequency, accessibility). • Designing a standardized process for recurring use across different technology categories. • Exploring tooling: Can existing software, automation tools, or AI agents help operationalize the process? • Documenting the full way of working: inputs, tools, decision points, outputs. • Training or onboarding internal users (optional, if timeline permits). • Creating templates and work instructions. What you bring: • You are currently enrolled in a final year Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering at a Dutch university or hogeschool. • You are fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus. • You like solving practical problems that don’t have one clear answer, using a step-by-step and logical way of thinking. • You understand how important supply chains are in a high-tech company like Frencken and why knowing the market well matters. • You feel comfortable working on your own and taking the lead to create solutions from scratch. • You have good skills in analyzing information and writing down your results clearly. • You’re curious about data, automation, or AI and interested in how they can be used in real business situations. • You can turn a method or process into an easy-to-follow guide that others can use. What We Offer: A real-world challenge with meaningful impact on procurement, the chance to shape our technology market intelligence approach, guidance from experienced stakeholders, and a flexible, innovative-friendly environment. Ready to Graduate with Impact in Procurement? Send your CV and a short motivation letter to recruitment@frenckengroup.com. We’re looking for curious, structured students who are eager to turn research into action. Apply before 20 July 2025!
